MOULTRIE —
A Colquitt County man was arrested Saturday night after a woman reported a rape at a Shade Murphy Road residence.
The 22-year-old woman reported that she was left at the residence alone with the man when a friend went to the store, during which time she was sexually assaulted, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office investigator Shawn Bostick said.
“He came home and she was extremely upset,” Bostick said of the man who went to the store. “He inquired about it and she told him what happened.”
The woman was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center for evidence collection, Bostick said. That evidence will be turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Floyd Tyrone Coates, 936 Shade Murphy Road, was charged with rape.
In other arrests:
• Terrance Jannon Long, 28, 1220 Gene McQueen Road, was charged Saturday with battery (family violence) and three counts of cruelty to children.
Leah Mae Long reported that after an argument Terrance Long hit a glass door with a baseball bat while she and one of her three children were near it and two other children were in the residence.
Long’s arm was cut by glass, sheriff’s reports said.
• Willie Charles Robinson, 50, 1713 Garden Villa Drive, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and failure to drive within a single lane.
• Juan Sanchez, 33, 315 Lot 1 Circle Road, was charged Saturday with DUI.
• James Henry Harris, 57 210 W. Loomis St., Thomasville, was charged Friday with pedestrian under the influence.
• Cody Corey Monroe, 26, 36 Sanford Heights, Thomasville, was charged Friday with probation violation.
• Michael Jason Bradley, 32, 207 Graystone Drive, was charged Friday with battery.
Moultrie Police Department
• Henry Paul Sanders, 40, 113 Third St. N.W., was charged Saturday with probation violation and giving a false name.
• Paul Edward Dawson, 39, 346 Weeks St., was charged Saturday with theft by receiving, driving under the influence, no insurance, suspended license, failure to maintain lane, open container, driving with suspended tag and use of tag to conceal identification.
• Wayne Kyle Morris, 20, Crum Road, was charged Friday with contempt of court.
• Calvin Ray Simpson Jr., 24, 205 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, was charged Friday with battery (family violence).
• Jannette Contreras, 20, 699 Sardis Church Road, was charged Friday with no driver’s license and defective equipment.
• Eddie Lee Stafford, 54, 522 Fifth Ave. S.E. Apt. 3, was charged Friday with theft by shoplifting.
• Joseph Michael Clements, 54, 1840 Fourth St. S.E., Dalton Ray Jones, 19, 717 1/2 Hillcrest Ave., and Daniel Scott Cornell, 22, 685 Wilder Road, were each charged Friday with trespassing.
• Dalton Ray Jones, 19, 717 1/2 Hillcrest Ave., was charged Friday with driving on suspended license and display of license violation.
• Bobby D. Ellerson, 26, 605 Third St. S.W., was charged Friday with driving under the influence (refusal), fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, driving while license suspended, duty to obey police and probation violation.
• Desardy Brook Terrall, 19, 314 Third St. S.E., was charged Friday with disorderly conduct.

• Bobby Griner, 1100 block Dunn Road, reported Friday the theft of a tractor battery valued at $112.
• Sherri Holweger, 100 block Baypole School Road, reported Saturday the theft of a Mazda automobile motor, crankshaft core and miscellaneous items from a shed with a total value of $42.
• Eduardo Gonzales, 200 block Coy Cox Road, Omega, reported Friday the theft of a horseshoe with horse diamond ring, tiger eye gold ring and tiger eye black ring with a total value of $150.
• Colin Hawkins, 100 block Quail Lane, reported Thursday that a male acquaintance took his wallet while he was at Colquitt County High School, 1800 N. Park Ave.
Hawkins told the officer that the acquaintance returned the wallet but not $61 that had been inside it.
• Troy Lindsey, 301 Becky Lane, reported Friday the theft of a tractor battery valued at $70.
• Jackie Hembre, 2600 block Georgia Highway 319 South, reported Friday the theft of 88 Alprazolam tablets valued at $21.
Hembre told the officer that a Lowe’s employee had been in the residence making measurements on the day the medication was taken. When she called the store to report the theft she was told the employee had been suspended.
• Tina Marie Craig, 7657 Thigpen Trail, Doerun, reported Sunday the theft of 180 Endocet and 60 Alprazolam pills and a cell phone charger with a total value of $147.
Craig told the officer that a male acquaintance had been at her residence and when she called him he refused to return the belongings.
Moultrie Police Department
• Gregory Sloan, Moultrie, reported Friday the theft of a Craftsman riding lawn mower that had been sold at a pawn shop.
Geneva Lutsky, the owner of the lawn mower, later recovered it from the pawn shop, police reports said.
• Brandon Whitaker, 100 block Circle Drive, reported Friday the theft of an Xbox 360 game system with controllers and other items valued at $1,090.
• Ann Taylor, 200 block Lynn Street, reported Saturday a burglary at her residence in which property valued at $710 was stolen.
• Michaelyn Blackwell, Moultrie, reported Saturday the theft of a handbag containing medication, driver’s license and $8.
• Rob Lewis, Moultrie, reported Friday the theft of a Husky generator, Ingersol Rand air wrench and two 20-ton jacks and a diamond-plate tool box, with a total value of $3,134, from a storage unit in the 400 block of Georgia Highway 33 South.
Assaults
Moultrie Police Department
• Ladanza Davis, 1100 block Sixth Street Southwest, reported Friday that a male acquaintance hit her with his elbow during an argument.
• Frank Perkins, Moultrie, reported Saturday that a female relative hit Devota Williams during an argument over drugs.
• Shidine Duncan, 700 block Seventh Avenue Southwest, reported that a male acquaintance hit her in the back of the head and left when she called 911.
• Kayla Mitchell, Lastinger Road, Tifton, reported Monday that a male acquaintance grabbed her by the throat and threatened her and her children.
Mitchell told the officer the incident happened in the 600 block of U.S. Highway 319 North, Norman Park. When she knocked on the door of a nearby residence the man threw her cell phone down, breaking it, before walking away.
Damage to property
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office
• Inez Knighton, 1000 block Circle Road, reported Saturday that the driver of a white Ford F-150 pickup truck hit several mailboxes and a parked 1996 Ford Ranger in the 500 block of Circle Road.
• Glenda Dawson, 1600 block Seventh Street Southeast, reported Friday that children in the neighborhood took her granddaughter’s scooter and broke it.
• Teresa Strickland, 5000 block Funston-Sale City Road, reported Friday that a blue Pontiac G-6 was scratched while parked at Colquitt County High School.
• Pearl Lawton, 900 block R.L. Norman Road, reported Friday that mail delivered to her mail has been opened at each end or the seal broken on envelopes and that packages also had been opened.
Moultrie Police Department
• An officer patrolling at 1:40 a.m. Sunday observed a broken window at an abandoned warehouse at 24 Second Avenue Northeast. Damage was estimated at $200.
• Vic Patel reported Saturday damage to a storage shed at Bishop’s, 402 First St. S.E.,
The damage, estimated at $150, appeared to be storm-related, police reports said.
Other investigations
• David Johnson, 100 block Tallokas Estates, reported Saturday that $367 was charged to his debit card without his permission for the purchase of a satellite dish.
• Candice Jackson, 4000 block Georgia Highway 111, Hartsfield, reported Friday that she received a check by delivery for $1,975.
Jackson told the officer when she called the company on which the check was written she was told the check was no good and to contact law enforcement.
