NORMAN PARK — Funston Baptist Church Men’s Ministry and the Colquitt County Baptist Association will be hosting a men’s Bible conference, “No Regrets — Wisdom from the Life of King Solomon,” Sept. 11-12, at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center in Norman Park.
This conference is for all men and boys, sixth grade and up, who desire to study the Bible and learn about King Solomon and his choices in life.
The conference will be led by the Rev. Jeff Crook, who is the senior pastor of Blackshear Place Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Ga. Its current membership is 6,500, with an average Sunday attendance of 2,750. Since 2004, Blackshear Place has welcomed 2,500 new members (1,300 by “Believer’s Baptism”) under his leadership.
He is a graduate of The Baptist College of Florida and the New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He is married to the former Becky Williams of Marianna, Fla. They have a daughter, Macie, and a son, Josiah.
The conference will start at 5 p.m. Sept. 11 with registration and then dinner at 6 p.m. It will continue with music and worship; session one of the study will start at 7:30. On Saturday, breakfast will be at 7 a.m., worship will be at 8 a.m. and session two will be at 8:30 a.m. After a break, session three will start at 10:30 a.m. and the conclusion will begin at 11:45 a.m.
The cost is $35 and this includes a study guide, CDs of the study and the two meals. Lodging is also available at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center, for a fee, and this must be paid with registration for the event. The registration deadline is Aug. 31.
