Suspect arrested

MOULTRIE — Moultrie police arrested a suspect Monday in a Jan. 22 robbery in which a man reported a gunman taking his money in a restaurant parking lot.

Kenji Ramon Irvin, 29, 1337 Sumner Circle, was charged with armed robbery.

He is accused of robbing Willie Peterson Jr., 31, at about 10:30 a.m. in the McDonald’s parking lot at 506 First Ave. S.E.

Police said that the gunman brandished a weapon but did not point it at Peterson. No weapon has been recovered.

Irvin was arrested after police received a tip on his whereabouts on Monday, police Inv. Raul Leal said.

Georgia Department of Corrections records said that Irvin received a 10-year sentence on a marijuana possession conviction in January 2002 and has been incarcerated in state facilities for three months in 2003, a year and a half starting in October 2007 and a little more than a year beginning in August 2010.
