Thefts, damage top $8,000

Staff Reports

MOULTRIE — Five Colquitt County residents and a business reported Tuesday they were victims of property theft. Items reported stolen included electronics, tires and rims, cash, a pair of shoes, a lawn mower, cigarettes, candy and beer, T-shirts and duck decoys.

The value of items reported stolen and damage caused during the thefts was $8,356. Those who reported being the victims of theft were:

• Trevino Peterson, of Kingwood Gardens Drive, reported a thief stole a set of Bentchi rims and a set of tires between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday. The value of the stolen items was $1,500.

• Twyia Eady, of West Boulevard, reported a thief stole $30 cash, a pair of Nike shoes and a Sony portable DVD player Tuesday. The value of the stolen items was $260. Eady gave officers the names of two male suspects.

• Antoninette Williams, of 10th Avenue Southeast, reported a thief damaged a bedroom window and stole a camcorder and a Phillips 42-inch television between 10:30 a.m. and 2:04 p.m. Tuesday. Damage and the value of the stolen items was $777.

• An employee at the Best Little Store in Georgia on West Central Avenue reported a thief knocked a hole in a wall and stole T-shirts, 55 cartons of Newport cigarettes, beer and candy Tuesday. Damage and the value of the stolen items was $3,870.

• Tracy Aldridge, of Highway 133 South, reported Tuesday a female acquaintance stole five homemade mallard ducks Dec. 28. The value of the stolen ducks was $400.

• Mary Cantrell, of Bonnie Tuk Road in Funston, reported Tuesday a thief stole a Poulan lawn mower, a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer and a Microsoft X-box 360 between Nov. 12 and March 1. The value of the stolen items was $1,549.



Arrests

Moultrie Police

• Two juvenile girls were each charged Tuesday with disorderly conduct.

• Israel Lorenzo, 21, of 456 Circle Road, Lot A, was charged Tuesday with driving without a license (second offense) and following too closely.



Sheriff’s Office

• Darrell Carson Bozeman, 57, of 3431 Moye Road, was charged Monday with an open container violation.

• Brenda Fay Ricks, 45, of 3431 Moye Road, was charged Monday with an open container violation and driving with a suspended license.



Other Incidents

Moultrie Police

• Victoria Green, of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, reported a male acquaintance punched her several times in the face, stomach and arms Tuesday. The incident took place in front of a child, and Green was eight months pregnant at the time of the incident.

• An employee at Southwest Georgia Bank on First Street Southeast reported finding a counterfeit $100 bill and a counterfeit $20 bill Tuesday.
