MOULTRIE — The USDA government surplus commodity distribution will be held at the Colquitt County Agricultural Building No. 2 on North Veterans Parkway on Thursday, April 16, from 9 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. or until supplies last.
All recipients must certify their eligibility to receive commodities. Those who wish to qualify need to bring some form of identification and know their total household income. Please bring bags and/or boxes to place items in, as each issue will weigh about 41 lbs.
Those who send someone else to pick up the commodities for them must have a signed written note listing address, the number of people in the house and total household income.
Items scheduled for distribution include applesauce, apricots, black-eyed beans, great northern beans, green beans, pinto beans, vegetable beans, beef stew, carrots, corn flake cereal, corn, mixed fruit, grapefruit juice, grits, mixed vegetables, orange juice, peaches, peanut butter, peas, dried plums, pasta, rice, vegetable soup, tomato juice, tomato sauce, tomatoes and tuna.
