9:00 p.m. update: Road Closures

In addition to the following official list, Colquitt County has closed several other roads in response to water over the road from the late evening storms. The Observer does not have a list of those most recent closings.



Colquitt County roads closed as of 3 p.m., April 2, 2009:

• Holland Road at County Line Bridge.

• Causey Road where pavement ends.

• Myron Hart Road at county line.

• Willingham Rd at 90° curve to Loyd Road.

• Charlie Hamm Road.

• Hagin Still Road at bridge.

• Hurst Road, west of trail.

• Jack Pyle Road.

• Ladson Road to Captain Gay.

• Livingston Bridge Road off U.S. Highway 319.

• Old Albany Road at dirt road bridge.

• Toney Brothers Road at pond.

• Whitfield Road at first culvert off Sam Sells.

• Jim Clark Road at bridge.

• Larry Dunn Road.

• Lonnie Brookard.

• Murray McCranie Road.

• Vickers Bridge Road at bridge between John Vickers Road and Moultrie Lenox Road.

• Cannon Road at bridge between Lee Court House and Chitty Road.

• Annie McGee Road at first bottom off Old Adel.

• Sangster Road.

• Rufus Merritt Road at bridges.

• Jonah Tillman Road south of Culbertson.



In addition, the City of Moultrie has closed:

• Talmadge Drive.

• Jacqueline Circle at Camellia Drive.



The state Department of Transportation announced about 9 p.m. that it has again closed Highway 270 near Doerun. In addition, it has closed some in nearby counties. The DOT sent the following lists to The Observer:

Crisp County - I-75 Northbound/SR 401 - MP 102 - NB on-ramp & NB lanes - CLOSED:

DETOUR ROUTE: Exit 102/SR 257 to SR 7/US 4 to SR 215/Vienna

Crisp County - I-75 Southbound/SR 401 - MP 102 - SB I-75 Left (Inside) Lane - CLOSED

Colquitt County - SR 270 - from MP 0.5 to MP 4.1 - CLOSED

Mitchell County - SR 37 - from 10.0 to 10.1 - CLOSED

Seminole County - SR 39 - MP 3.5 - CLOSED

SR 129 Berrien County - from MP 12.3 to MP 24.3 - CLOSED



Remaining closed:

Lowndes County - SR 7 North - MP 38.5 - CLOSED CORRECTION

Ben Hill/Turner Counties - SR 107 - from MP 1.9 Ben Hill to MP 7.9 Turner - CLOSED

Thomas County - SR 3 Alternate - from MP 9 - 10 - CLOSED

Baker County - SR 91 - from Mile Post 8.0 - CLOSED

Decatur County - SR 262 South - from Mile Post 20 to 21 - CLOSED

Dougherty/Worth County - SR 133 - from MP 10 Worth to MP 0.4 Dougherty - CLOSED

Tift County - SR 7 South - from Mile Post 2.0 to 5.3 - CLOSED

Mitchell County - SR 37 - Mile Post 0.0 to 2.3 -CLOSED

Berrien County - US 82/SR 520 - Mile Marker 0.6 Tift/Berrien County line at Hardy Mill Creek - CLOSED

Tift County - US 82/SR 520 - Mile Marker 12 at New River - EASTBOUND ONLY CLOSED

Tift - US 82/SR 520 - Middle Creek @ Vanceville - WESTBOUND ONLY CLOSED

Mitchell County - SR 112 - Mile Marker 0.1 - CLOSED

Mitchell County - SR 262 - Mile Marker 9.6 @ SR 112 - CLOSED

Seminole County - SR 91 - Mile Marker 9.8 - CLOSED

Seminole County - SR 91 - Mile Marker 6.5 - CLOSED

Grady County - SR 112 - Mile Marker 11.3 to 12.8 - CLOSED
