MEIGS — A 15-year-old Meigs boy was apprehended after he allegedly fought with his sister, damaged a television and stabbed a door multiple times Sunday night.
The 15-year-old boy was charge with simple assault (family violence), criminal damage to property (second degree) and disorderly conduct.
A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to a house on Lower Meigs Road in Meigs about 10:30 p.m. Sunday about a domestic dispute. When the deputy entered the house, he saw blood on the front glass door and garbage all over the living room before speaking with the boy.
The boy stated he and his sister got into an argument over telephone use, so he allegedly tied the phone around her door. When she opened the door, the phone line broke, and the two got into a fight, and he allegedly slammed her onto the floor, hurting her leg, investigators said.
The boy stated his father came into the room to break up the fight and threw him to the ground. The boy allegedly began to fight back, hitting his father in the face, causing a scratch to his left cheek and a nose bleed.
The boy then grabbed a trash can and allegedly threw it at his father before the father ran into his bedroom, the investigator’s report said. The boy allegedly got a knife and started stabbing his father’s bedroom door then allegedly hit a Sanyo 36-inch television, breaking it. The value of the television was $600.
The boy was then placed under arrest and taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center in Thomasville.
