Gospel Sing
There will be a gospel sing Saturday, Jan. 3, from 7 p.m. - until, at Maule’s Pilot Lounge on Spence Field. The featured singers will be Rick Griswold and Faithful Servants. Admission is free and a love offering will be taken for the featured groups.
Watch Night Service
There will be a Watch Night service on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 9 p.m. to midnight, at Ione Freewill Baptist Church in Pavo. Music will be by “Perfect Grace” of Quitman and other groups. Breakfast/supper will be served at 9 p.m.
Pelham Country Jamboree New Year’s
The Pelham Country Jamboree will have its New Year’s celebration starting at 8 p.m. The Country Boll Express will be providing the music. Bring a covered dish or finger food. All ages are welcome.
Watch Night Service
There will be a Watch Night service on Wednesday, Dec. 31, starting at 9:30 p.m., at Lewis Temple Church of God in Christ. The Rev. J.W. Lewis is pastor.

2 men charged in 10 burglaries
The arrests of two Moultrie men clears up no less than 10 burglaries from around the county, sheriff’s office investigators say.
Traviskius Sentrell Pate, 29, of 2903 Sylvester Drive, and Freddie Joseph Ross, 20, of 843-A Sixth Street Northwest, were charged Thursday morning with 10 counts each of burglary, according to Colquitt County sheriff’s investigator Shannon Hart. Hart said more charges are possible. -

Prosecutors in the trial of five accused gang members wrapped up on Thursday, but jurors will not begin deliberating the facts of the case until next week.
