Robbery victim arrested

MOULTRIE — A Moultrie man reported he was beaten and robbed as he walked Wednesday afternoon. When officers met with him shortly after reporting the incident, he was himself placed under arrest.

David Robinson, 34, of Moultrie, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Robinson flagged down an officer on First Avenue Southeast at 3:07 p.m. Wednesday stating he had been robbed. He told officers he was walking down First Avenue Southeast when a white four-door car pulled up beside him.

Three black men got out of the car and began to beat up Robinson and stole $10 cash he had in his hand. The men then got into the car and left the scene. Robinson had a laceration above his right eye, and he stated he had lost control of his bowels after being kicked repeatedly in the head.

Colquitt County EMS was called to the scene to treat Robinson, but he refused their assistance.

About two hours after this incident, an officer met with Robinson at Crossroads Mission on Fifth Street Northeast about advice.

When the officer arrived at 5:18 p.m., Robinson was allegedly acting very agitated and aggressive toward the officer. He allegedly slammed his hands on the patrol car hood and yelled about officers not helping find the men who robbed him. He was also using profanity and vulgar remarks, police said.

The officer asked Robinson to calm down, but he was placed under arrest when he would not comply. After being placed in the patrol car, he allegedly tried to kick out a passenger window and was put in leg restraints. He was then taken to Colquitt County Jail.
