Man blames incident on desire for beer

MOULTRIE — A man’s thirst for a brew, and the lengths he went to in his attempt to slake it, landed him in jail on trespassing and battery charges, according to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office.

Margarita Ortiz reported Monday that a man broke into her residence in the 500 block of Circle Road and pulled everything out of the refrigerator and onto the floor. During the incident another resident was hit in the face, sheriff’s reports said.

When officers found the man he explained that he “was just looking for beer” at Ortiz’s residence, and gave his identity as Jose Pedro Ambrosio.

When he was taken to the jail officers determined his name was really Godofredo Ambrocio.

Ambrocio, 29, 829 Circle Road, was charged with obstruction of officers, criminal trespassing and obstruction of officers.
