MOULTRIE — Two men were arrested Thursday after they allegedly had stolen catalytic converters from a salvage yard.

Roger Renard Walker, 25, of Albany, and Ronterios Jemond Ross Jr., 28, of 400 Washington St. in Camilla, were each charged with loitering, theft by taking, criminal damage to property (second degree) and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

Colquitt County Sheriff’s Investigator Shawn Bostick said there have been reports of catalytic converters being stolen from junk cars at Cox Auto Parts on Sylvester Drive and from European Automotive Parts on Sylvester Highway for some time. The latest reported thefts were 21 converters stolen between 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday. The value of those stolen catalytic converters was $3,150.

To try to determine who had been taking the converters, Bostick said he did surveillance at the car lots Thursday night. While there, he spotted a tan Cadillac that drove around the lots twice before the occupants allegedly exited to steal additional parts.

The two men, Walker and Ross, however, turned around and got back into the car and tried to leave the scene, Bostick said. He pulled the Cadillac over, and he allegedly found all the tools needed to remove the catalytic converters from the junk cars.

Bostick said both men were placed under arrest and taken to Colquitt County Jail. It was found both men had allegedly been involved in other thefts in multiple counties, and their information was sent out to see if additional charges are brought against them.

• Sharon Hickman, of 120-A Dunn Road, was charged Friday with duty to obey an officer and probation violation.

• Willie Dean Carter, 46, of 508 Fourth St. N.W., Apt. B, was charged Friday with no proof of insurance and driving without a license.

• Kodi Nikko Milton, 28, of 408 Fifth Ave. S.W., was charged Friday with theft by shoplifting.

• Terrance Wheeler, 23, of 711 Seventh St. S.E., was charged Saturday with duty to obey an officer and probation violation.

• Darrell Lamar Johnson, 49, of 233 Sunset Circle, was charged Saturday with driving with a suspended license, a seatbelt violation, giving false information to an officer and probation violation.

• Becky Raburn, 21, of 405 Coventry Circle, was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct.

• Winfred Marcus Raburn Jr., 22, of 405 Coventry Circle, was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct.

• Carl Dean Rice II, 19, of 15 Quiet Cove S.W., was charged Sunday with DUI, a seatbelt violation and an open container violation.

• Angel Chavez, 34, of Norman Park, was charged Sunday with driving without a license and a child restraint violation.

• Franklin Irvin Casey, of 200 Rowland Drive, was charged Sunday with false imprisonment and battery (family violence).

• Kendrick Blackwell, of 1401 Ninth St. S.W., was charged Sunday with duty to stop at the scene of an accident and failure to stop at a stop sign.

• Daniel Candino Escovedo, 25, of 889 John Tillman Road, was charged Sunday with a new resident has 30 days to get a license violation.

• Michael Columbus Collier, 29, of 1133 Highway 319 S., Lot, 2, was charged Friday with DUI, failure to maintain lane, an open container violation and leaving the scene of an accident.

• Christopher Ladon Walden, 28, of 1931 Old Berlin Road, was charged Friday with two counts of deposit account fraud.

• Chris Albert Meeks, 37, of 1219 Cool Springs Road, was charged Sunday with driving with a suspended license and probation violation.

• Edward Lamons, 21, of 8723 Airline Road in Pavo, was charged Thursday with driving with a suspended license, giving false information to an officer and two counts of probation violation.

• Johnny Ray Fillinggame, 48, of 3960 Val Way, Lot 3, in Hahira, was charged Saturday with DUI, driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain lane and an open container violation.

• Charles Rashad Sharpe, 20, of 710 Sixth St. N.W., was charged Sunday with driving with a suspended license and a seatbelt violation.

• Max Bernard McBride, 28, of 123 N. Manning St. in Funston, was charged Sunday with driving with a suspended license.

• Octavio Guadalupe Garcia, 20, of 200 Trailer Park Road, was charged Sunday with driving with a suspended license.

Moultrie Police

• Elaine Aldridge reported a thief stole an air conditioning unit and damaged the breaker box, panel box, wiring and circuit breaker at her rental house on Third Avenue Northwest Friday. Damage and the value of the stolen air conditioner was $3,800.

• An employee at Moultrie Package on North Veterans Parkway reported Friday someone cashed a counterfeit check Aug. 10. The amount of the counterfeit check was $475.69. Another customer passed a second counterfeit check, for the same amount, also at the store.

• Jeff Ingram reported someone dented a passenger door of his Ford F-150 while it was parked at Harvey’s Supermarket on First Avenue Southeast Friday.

• An employee at Robert Hutson on First Avenue Southeast reported a thief stole a wheel and a chrome tire from a Ford F-350 truck Saturday. The value of the stolen items was $501.

• An employee at the Shell Station,401 N. Veterans Parkway, reported a thief pumped an unknown amount of gasoline Saturday and left without paying for it. The vehicle used was a black Toyota 4-Runner, but officers were not given additional details.

• Travis Spence reported four black males kicked him and stole his cell phone as he walked on Fifth Avenue Northwest Saturday.

• Reynita Myricks, of Fourth Avenue Northeast, reported a thief stole her children’s two Sony PSP’s between June and 7:57 p.m. Sunday. The value of the stolen game systems was $400.

• Kari Smith reported a male acquaintance broke the windshield and damaged a passenger door and side of her Toyota Camry after she had stopped on Old Doerun Road Monday.

• Gregory King, of Magnolia Avenue, reported a thief stole a tin can with 17 rolls of quarters in it between 7:15 a.m. and 9 a.m. Friday. The value of the stolen rolls was about $170. King gave officers the name of a female suspect.

• James Jordan, of Ocilla, reported someone used his Social Security number to open a phone account in Moultrie and used it between Jan. 1, 2004, and noon Friday. The amount used on the fraudulent account was $1,512.49.

• Lance Hunt reported a thief stole a Roper riding lawn mower from his relative’s house on Foxthick Road between July 25 and 6:51 p.m. Friday. The value of the stolen lawn mower was $2,400.
