MOULTRIE — The Moultrie City Council will meet at 6 p.m. today on the second floor of the Municipal Building. On tonight’s agenda are:
• A presentation from Main Street Director Amy Johnson about the Northwest Moultrie Beautification Project.
• Holding the third and final reading to modify the Utilities Ordinance to ensure power cost adjustment is not less than zero.
• Holding a first and second reading to amend the Utilities Ordinance to set security light rates.
• Consider approval of expenditures in the amount of $2,004,859.22 for the Department of Labor facility.
• Holding an executive session to consult and meet with legal counsel pertaining to pending or potential litigation, settlement, claims, administrative proceedings, or other judicial actions brought or to be brought by or against the city or a city official or employee or in which the official or employee may be directly involved.

Tragedy to keep Ryan James from graduation
Ryan won’t walk after all.
A hue and cry went up earlier this week when the Colquitt County Board of Education refused to let a senior with a developmental disability walk at today’s graduation. The board reversed its decision on Wednesday, but tragic events will prevent Ryan James from joining his classmates at Mack Tharpe Stadium. -
