Church burglar who sought porn pleads guilty

MOULTRIE — Among the guilty pleas taken in Colquitt County Superior Court before Judge Frank Horkan recent was the church burglary case in which the robber was only interested in porn.

Steven M. Walker, 18, 822 E. Broad St., Doerun, pleaded guilty to first offender burglary and was sentenced to 10 years probation, 160 days in jail with credit for time served, 180 to 365 days detention center, $2,000 fine, 80 hours community service, restitution to Doerun First Methodist Church, curfew and reimburse attorney fees to county.

In August, Walker broke into Doerun First Methodist through a window and accessed pornographic websites on the pastor’s computer, court documents said. In addition, Walker printed out images on the church printer and took them with him when he left, records said.

• Craig Outlaw, 29, 4720 319 N., Norman Park, pleaded guilty to first offender aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of speeding and reckless driving. Outlaw was sentenced to 10 years probation total, 180 to 270 days detention center, $2,000 fine, 80 hours community service, curfew and reimburse attorney fees to county.

Outlaw initially was charged with assault with a vehicle, DUI, driving with a suspended license, obstruction, attempt to elude officers, speeding, reckless driving and a window tint violation.

In May, Outlaw while trying to outrun Georgia state troopers recklessly drove his 2001 Nissan through the parking lot of Ameris Bank on the corner of First Avenue and Rowland Drive, narrowly missing a Moultrie man, and ran into the bank before troopers arrested him, court documents said.

• Jake Brunson, 23, Americus, pleaded guilty to theft by taking motor vehicle and was sentenced to seven years prison. Brunson additionally pleaded guilty to charges of interference with government property and was sentenced to five years prison to run concurrently with the primary sentence.

Brunson had escaped from the Thomas County Diversion Center in August and was later caught in Americus. He stole a vehicle from Mobley Plant Co. during his flight to Americus.

The interference with government property charges stemmed from damage done at the Colquitt County Jail in October. Brunson had chipped away pieces of a jail cell wall of Pod 1 with rebar.

• Paul Wesley Hicks Jr., 44, A200 Trailer Park Road, pleaded guilty to robbery and was sentenced to five years prison.

In October, Hicks reached over customers to grab $400 from the register at Roses Department Store. Officers caught Hicks on tape committing the robbery.

• Alvin C. Hunt, 23, 839 Shy Manor Drive, pleaded guilty to cocaine possession and was sentenced to two years prison.

• Chancey Kyle Harris, 29, 25 23rd St. S.E., pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple assault and possession of marijuana less than one ounce and was sentenced to two years probation, $1,000 fine, 80 hours community service and no violent contact with victim Jennifer Harris.

• Trista Denise Walker, 24, 601 Fourth Ave. S.W., pleaded guilty to cruelty to first offender children in the second degree and was sentenced to five years probation, $1,000 fine, 40 hours community service, curfew, reimburse attorney fees to county and follow all Department of Family and Children Services case plans.

• Johnny Alvin Holloway, 39, 307 Captain Gay Road, pleaded guilty to five years probation, 210 to 365 days detention center, $1,500 fine, 40 hours community service, curfew and reimburse attorney fees to county.

• Willie D. Johnson, 63, 331 Second Ave. N.W., pleaded guilty to cocaine possession and was sentenced to five years intensive probation, $2,000 fine, 120 hours community service, curfew and reimburse attorney fees to county.

• Demetrius McBride, 21, 1716 Fourth St. S.E., pleaded guilty to first offender statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl and was sentenced to eight years probation, 270 to 365 days detention center, $2,000 fine, 40 hours community service, curfew, reimburse attorney fees to county and no contact with victim.

• Evins Myers Sr., 57, 505 11th Court S.E., pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Myers was in possession of a pistol in March reported stolen from the Tifton Police Department, court records said.

• Keithus Damon Troupe, 22, 1515 Fourth Ave. N.E., pleaded guilty to first offender possession with intent to distribute marijuana Aug. 18 at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Central Avenue and was sentenced to four years probation, $2,000 fine, 120 hours community service, curfew, reimburse attorney fees to county.

• Alim R. Lovett, 18, 1310 W. Central Ave., pleaded guilty to first offender marijuana possession with intent to distribute Aug. 10 on Ninth Street Southwest and was sentenced to six years probation, $2,000 fine, 80 hours, curfew and reimburse attorney fees to county.

• Tawanda Lambright, 27, 712 12th Ave. S.E., pleaded guilty to first offender deposit account fraud of $2,280 and was sentenced to three years, $500 fine, 80 hours community service, restitution to Thomas Sumner, reimburse attorney fees to county and no contact with victim.

• Leroy Esther Jr., 19, 314 Third St. S.E., pleaded guilty to first offender crack cocaine possession and was sentenced to four years probation, $2,000 fine, 120 hours community service, curfew and reimburse attorney fees to county.

• Franklin Williams, 27, 1219 Faison Road, Hartsfield, pleaded nolo contendre to first offender marijuana possession and was sentenced to one year probation, fine waived, curfew and reimburse attorney fees to county.
