Judge hears guilty pleas

MOULTRIE — In Colquitt County Superior Court, the following felony cases were recently disposed before Judge Frank Horkan:

• Luke Moxley, 20, 1330 U.S. Highway 319 N., Norman Park, pleaded guilty to first degree forgery and was sentenced to seven years probation, $2,500 fine, 80 hours community service and restitution to Murphy Sheahan of more than $527.

• Donald Bryant, 23, 824 Joe Louis Ave. N.W., pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five on probation, $1,500 fine, 100 hours community services, curfew, reimbursement of more than $4,000 total and no contact with victims Josh Briones, Zenora McClinton, Sammarrian Conney and Ramesh Patel.

• Demetric A. Johnson, also known as Demetrius Johnson, 32, 1314 W. Central Ave., pleaded guilty to five counts first degree forgery and was sentenced to concurrent sentences totaling 10 years probation, 180 to 270 days detention center, $2,000 fine, 120 hours community service, curfew, restitution of $2,336 to Danfair Express and no contact with victim.

• Kalvin J. Harper, 18, 518 E. College Ave., pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and was sentenced to four years probation, 90 to 365 days detention center, $2,000 fine, 40 hours community service, curfew and reimbursement of public defenders fees to county. Harper also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and received a concurrent sentence of one year on probation.

• Wayne Lord, 34, 713 E. Central Ave., pleaded guilty to cocaine possession with intent to distribute Nov. 3, 2006, at First Avenue Northwest and Second Street Northwest.

• Michael James Little, 30, 351 C.O. Kennedy Road, pleaded guilty to theft by taking and was sentenced to six years probation, $1,500 fine, 40 hours community service and complete drug rehabilitation program. On Sept. 6, Little snatched a purse from Kandy Whitfield as she entered Wal-Mart.

• Leonard Johnson, 33, 316 Ninth St. S.W., pleaded guilty to first offender theft by receiving and was sentenced to four years probation, $2,000 fine, 80 hours community service, restitution to victims and no contact with co-defendants Donnie Kilgore and Marvin P. Brown.
