Moultrie entrepreneurs take advantage of Expo

MOULTRIE — As a locally-run business, Ice House America seemed to be a perfect fit to be on display during the Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition. This year’s Expo saw the company making their first appearance to market themselves there.

Daniel Dunn, a local Ice House America dealer, said this year marks the first time the business has had their product on display at the Expo. The 29th annual event seemed to be a perfect opportunity to tell those in attendance about the Twice the Ice machines and their marketing potential.

“Since the Twice the Ice machines are built in Moultrie,” Dunn said, “we should be represented at the country’s largest agricultural show. It is a good opportunity to market our product.”

With visitors from across the country at Expo, Dunn said he has already been able to speak with people from several states about Twice the Ice machines. He had spoken with people from Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Ohio about them.

Dunn said most of those states already have a local dealer established, but Kansas and Ohio have not yet been reached by Ice House America. For those states not reached, Dunn gave them information about how to set up a dealership there, while those interested from states that have a dealer established were given those dealer’s contact information.

In addition to trying to branch out throughout the United States, Dunn said Ice House America has already become international. The company shipped their second Twice the Ice unit to Australia Tuesday, and it is looking to expand its operations into Mexico.

Those who use a Twice the Ice machine may also notice something new to them, Dunn said. For the past three months, Twice the Ice machines have added water dispensers in one- and five-gallon options. The addition of selling water seemed a perfect fit for the company’s machines.

“We’re cleaning the water already,” Dunn said, “so why not try to sell it also.”
