Benefit

The “Love Life” cancer benefit will be held for Delia Muniz Charles on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 5 to 11 p.m., at the Blue Sky Grill. Many different bands will be playing after dinner. All proceeds will go to the Delia Charles Trust to help pay medical bills and expenses.



Veterans’ Benefits Seminar

The Georgia Department of Labor’s Moultrie Career Center and the Veterans of Foreign Wars will co-sponsor a seminar on veterans’ benefits and other services available to ex-military personnel. The seminar will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the VFW Post 4830, located at 1106 5th Ave. S.E. in Moultrie.



Former Members Reunion

The Southeastern Gospel Music Association will be having a Former Members Reunion Sing on Saturday, Sept. 19, starting at 3 p.m., at the Lenox Christian Fellowship Church. Former members of the GMA, since its inception in 1983, will be singing along with the present members. It is open to the public. For more information, call 229-896-7684 or 229-560-4408.



Sunbelt Writers

The Sunbelt Writers will meet on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Moultrie Library auditorium. “What is a Memoir?” will be the topic of speaker James Keith Taylor, author of “Our Confederate Dead, Colquitt County, Ga., Volume I, Westview Cemetery.”



MHS Class of 1954 Meeting

The MHS Class of 1954 will meet Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at Jernigan’s Steak and Seafood in Crosland, at 6 p.m., for its monthly “Social Gathering.” For more information contact Laura Anne Ackley at 229-888-5433.



Mission Anniversary

Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, on Kendallwood Church Rd. in Funston, will celebrate its Mission Anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Sis. Pat Miller. The Rev. John Wesley Greene Jr. is pastor.
