Briannah Erving is the 15-year-old daughter of Moses and Linda Erving. She enjoys hairstyling, dancing, singing and just ‘simply being herself,’ she said. She hopes to attend Florida State University and earn a pharmacist degree.
Amber Westley is the 17-year-old daughter of Dr. Todd Cason and Lana Cason. She is a senior at Colquitt County High School, where she is a member of both the football and competition cheerleading squads.
Tiyana White is the 17-year-old daughter of Monica White and the stepdaughter of Preston Williams. She is a junior at Colquitt County High School, where she is a member of Partnership for Success, Women’s Chorale and the band.
Kamiah Wilson is the daughter of Raymond and Sonja Wilson. She is a senior at Colquitt County High School, where she was elected homecoming princess and is a member of A Capella Choir, Women’s Chorale, and the dance line.
Ty’liyah Smith will be competing in the Junior Miss division of the Miss Afro Pageant Saturday. She is the daughter of Teniki Doe Leverette.
Sunterreya Sanders will be competing in the Little Miss competition. She is the daughter of Barbara Logan.
Carmen O’Shea Welch will be competing in the Little Miss competition. She is the daughter of Deshannon Tuff.

MOULTRIE — The Annual Miss Afro Scholarship Pageant, sponsored by Friendship Baptist Church, will be held at 7 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Colquitt County Arts Center. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Miss Afro contestants will be Briannah Erving, Amber Westley, Tiyana White and Kamiah Wilson.

Ty’liyah Smith will compete in the Junior Miss division.

Carmen O’Shea Welch and Sunterreya Sanders will compete in the Little Miss division.

2 men charged in 10 burglaries
The arrests of two Moultrie men clears up no less than 10 burglaries from around the county, sheriff’s office investigators say.
Traviskius Sentrell Pate, 29, of 2903 Sylvester Drive, and Freddie Joseph Ross, 20, of 843-A Sixth Street Northwest, were charged Thursday morning with 10 counts each of burglary, according to Colquitt County sheriff’s investigator Shannon Hart. Hart said more charges are possible.
