Magnolia Manor South’s administrator, Teresa Newell, spoke at the July meeting of the Sunshine Club at Oak Dale Baptist Church. She was assisted by Martha Mixon, administrative assistant.
They shared the services that were available at the Manor. An integral part of servant leadership is Magnolia Manor’s mission, and also an age-old concept that seems to date back to the Bible. She also directs the Age Beaters Band. Most of the members are in their nineties, and they seem to perform well at their concerts. Faye Rowe, president, opened the meeting and welcomed the members and visitors. Dorothy Spruill introduced the speakers and Mildred Rentz had the devotion. She read from John 15, and shared some thoughts about friends and the group shared some of their thoughts. Rowe named the nominating committee, Lorena Barhite, Shirley Mims, and Adaline Gibbs, to nominate officers for the coming year. Mildred Rentz decorated tables with bouquets of zinnias from her flower garden. The travel committee discussed upcoming trips for the group.
The covered dish dinner seemed to be enjoyed by all. LaRue Abbott won the door prize.
