The Golden Harvest of Calvary Baptist Church met Aug. 19, in the fellowship hall.
The president, Bob Dixon, welcomed everyone and said the blessing for the covered dish meal. There were 21 members present.
Linda Carnes had the devotion and read from Psalm 48:14.
“God knows us, he knows how we work, and he knows what is best for us,” she said.
Door prizes were won by Delores Johnson and Bob Dixon. Jeanette Dochterman read the minutes from the last meeting and gave the treasuer’s report.
The “Star” for August was Linda Carnes. Lois Sinclair told of several events in her personal life and then related her involvement in Calvary Baptist Church for the past 50 years. She then presented the star with with a yellow rose to Carnes.
Those having birthdays in August were Junior Gaines, Gene Lastinger, Cecil Key, and Linda Carnes.
The group seemed to enjoy playing the game, “The Price is Right.” Prizes were won by Julian McCorkle, Shirley Griner, Wayne Goff, Janie Lott, Vickie Dixon, Linda Carnes, and LaTrelle Ferriero.
Julian McCorkle dismissed the group in prayer.
