Heath-Sands is guest performer

MOULTRIE — Karla Heat-Sands entertained the Jolly Keenagers at the Installation Banquet recently. She shared some of her life stories along with some of her favorite songs.

“The Lord’s Prayer” was her introduction to a program of hymns. Others included “Had a Little Talk With Jesus,” “Jesus Loves Me,” “What a Friend We have In Jesus,” “Wind Beneath My Wings,” and “What a Wonderful World.” She ended the program with “America the Beautiful.” Heath-Sands is associated with WALB TV station in Albany, Ga.

Matt Peek, youth minister of First Baptist Church, installed the officers for the coming year including Marvin Clayton, president; Jim Pearson, vice president; Loren Hildebrant, chaplain; Willette Pearson, recording secretary; Betty Hildebrant, corresponding secretary; Jacqueline Roberts, treasurer; Betty Cooper and Dot Mims, scrapbook; LaRue Norris, Joyce Smith, and Edith Farmer, registrars; Dot Mims, news letter; Lorena Barhite, reporter; Jim Pearson, photographer; Lorena Barhite, Betty Cooper, Shirley Mims, and Jackie Estep, flowers; Frank Farmer, Neil Schooner, and Wylene Goings, greeters; Eva Clayton, kitchen hostess; Mildred Rentz, song leader; Norma Jean Martin, pianist; Helen Sewell, activity chairman; and Sam Stephens, coordinator.

Marvin Clayton welcomed the group and Loren Hildebrant said the blessing for the meal. The social hall was  decorated by Laverne Henson and her staff. Door prizes were given to Charles Stines, and Virginia Holland.
