Marcus D. McDonald
Air Force Staff Sgt. Marcus D. McDonald has re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for an additional four years.
McDonald, a public affairs craftsman with 13 years of military service, is assigned to the 341st Missile Wing, Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Mont.
He is the son of Charles McDonald of Moultrie and Diane McDonald of Rebecca, Ga. The sergeant is a 1995 graduate of Colquitt County High School.
Stephen Tyus
Stephen Tyus of Moultrie was awarded a sophomore scholarship at the recent Honors Day ceremony at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC).
The award, provided through the ABAC Foundation, was based on a number of criteria such as leadership ability, character, academic excellence, and financial need.
A pre-engineering major, he received an ABAC Foundation Scholars scholarship. This year marks the first time ever that ABAC Foundation Scholars received a second year of funding for their scholarships.
Heather Turner
Heather Turner of Moultrie was recognized during Brewton-Parker College’s Honors Day ceremonies, in April, as a Dean’s Scholar for qualifying for the Dean’s List at least five times out of the last seven semesters. She received recognition for that honor from T. Ronald Melton, provost.
Turner also received the External Programs award from External Programs Dean, Jeff Edgens.

I am always impressed by people with great imaginations and how they create great works of art or new inventions.
