MOULTRIE —
Members of the C.A. Gray Jr. High School chapter of the Georgia Health Occupation Students of America participated in their National HOSA week, Nov. 4-10.
The purpose of National HOSA week is to make other students and the community more aware of what HOSA is, what they stand for, and what they do.
Students at C. A. Gray Jr. High participated in the following activities/events, officers meeting with Mayor William McIntosh and the signing of the National HOSA Week Proclamation, Monday held a HOSA Feed the Hungry Day” where all students were encouraged to bring in a can food item and receive a treat. This campaign will continue until Nov. 14, and then members will deliver the food collected to the Colquitt County Food Bank.
On Tuesday HOSA students participated in “HOSA Dress like a Healthcare Professional Day.” HOSA officers acted as spotters and gave out tickets to participating students in professional attire. At the end of the day tickets were drawn for free prizes.
On Wednesday the HOSA Chapter sponsored a Staff Appreciation Breakfast, where all C.A. Gray staff was treated to breakfast by going through a special line in the cafeteria or by signing up for their meal to be delivered to their rooms by a HOSA member. They also participated in our “HOSA Spirit Day” where all students were encouraged to wear their HOSA shirts or hoodies.
Vickie Kirkley and HOSA officers participated in a radio spot about National HOSA Week, C. A. Gray Jr. High HOSA, and HOSA’s support and appreciation of the healthcare community.
On Thursday and Friday HOSA officers and advisor traveled to Atlanta to attend the Georgia HOSA Fall Leadership Conference.
HOSA is a career and technical student organization focused on developing individuals in preparation for various healthcare careers. C.A. Gray Jr. High School HOSA has approximately 90 members.

Institutional SAT May 29 at ABAC
Students who plan to enroll in baccalaureate or pre-baccalaureate degree programs at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College can take the Institutional Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) on May 29 on the campus instead of waiting for the national testing dates.
