MOULTRIE — The Moultrie Technical College (MTC) chapter of SkillsUSA delivered more than 2,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to Colquitt County Food Bank Director Andy Jordan on Nov. 15. The food was donated by MTC faculty, staff and students from the college’s two Moultrie campuses over a two-week period. MTC SkillsUSA advisor and marketing program instructor Rebecca Clark said, ‘This is an incredible amount of food collected in a very short period of time. It was an amazing sight to witness a line of students carrying bags down the hall. Between both campuses, we loaded up three vehicles!’ SkillsUSA is a student organization that is a partnership of students, faculty members and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. Accounting instructor Cari Colby and automotive technology instructor Lynn Tanner also serve as club advisors. Pictured with the unprecedented food donations are MTC SkillsUSA members as well as several MTC accounting program students.
