MOULTRIE —
Winners have been selected in a trio of contests The Observer has been running in connection with the Christmas holiday.
An essay by Susie Magwood-Thomas titled “My Favorite Christmas Memory” was chosen as the essay winner. It relates a Christmas morning when Santa Claus brought her a baby brother. It won out of six entries.
In the photography category, Barbara Allegood of Moultrie won with “Dreaming of Santa.” It was judged the best of seven entries.
The most popular category was recipes with 21 entries, and the winner was “Ham with Whisky and Cola Glaze,” submitted by Nancy Horton of Meigs.
The winners will each receive a prize valued at about $25 from The Observer. Please contact us Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at (229) 985-4545 or at our office, 25 N. Main St., to arrange to pick up your prize.
The winner of the Story of the Year contest will be announced in the Jan. 1 paper.
