1 P.M. UPDATE: Thompson takes the stand in murder trial
The first man charged in a November 2004 quintuple homicide took the stand as the first witness Tuesday morning in the trial of the alleged triggerman. Jerry Johnny Thompson gave his account of that day, telling jurors that Alexander Woods, 34, of Valdosta shot Jaime Cruz Resendez with a 9 mm pistol. Thompson will be grilled by Woods' attorney this afternoon in what is expected to be a lengthy cross examination.
