Power pole ends police chase

A police chase Thursday afternoon in Northwest Moultrie ended when the car hit and broke an electric pole. Residents criticized what they described as a high-speed chase through an area where there are many kids in the area in the afternoon. ‘One of these kids could have been crossing the street,’ said Kimberly West of Funston who was in the area at the time but did not see the accident. ‘They could have got killed. I just feel like in an area like that there shouldn’t have been any high-speed chase. They should have backed off.’ A resident who did not wish to give her name said the driver of the car fled and a passenger was arrested.
