MOULTRIE —
The Colquitt County Show Team recently participated in the Georgia Young Farmers Beef Show, held Aug. 10-11 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry.
In Showmanship, senior Ben Hegwood and junior Nicholas Mobley, held 4th place honors respectively. Among eighth graders, Lane Goodroe brought home a 2nd place win and Megan Greeson placed in 5th.
In the Heifer Show, Nicholas Mobley won 1st place in his Crossbreed class, Reserve Breed Champion and 4th Best of Show. Gracie Frazier also placed 1st with her Crossbred heifer. Other winnings in the Heifer Show included Lane Goodroe 2nd, Dillion Frazier, Grant Bell and Macie Chitty 3rd in their classes, and Dillion Frazier 4th showing Crossbreed heifers. Anna Hartley and Grant Bell also had a 7th placing with their Crossbreed heifers. Hartley also placed 3rd in the Shorthorn class.
Colquitt County also dominated the Market Steer Show with Brittany Bass and Nicholas Mobley placing 1st in their classes, Megan Greeson and Mackenzie Blair placing 2nd with their breeds, Josie Johnson placing 4th and Jordan Bell placing 5th. Brittany Bass’ Limousin steer was the breed Champion in the show and Ben Hegwood’s Charolais steer brought home the Reserve Breed Champion honors.
